Migrate the critical on-premise environment to the cloud without impacting the KOCH group's business operations.

Goal
Support the exponential growth of the KOCH group with a scalable solution that ensures high availability and security, while executing a smooth and efficient migration.

Solution
The chosen architecture for the database was the Exadata Cloud Service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), providing high performance, scalability, and high availability. Additionally, virtual machine clusters were created for applications to support growth and high availability. Lastly, we deployed a disaster recovery (DR) setup for the entire architecture in a second Oracle data center located in Brazil.

Results
The results were highly positive, surprising users with significant improvements post-migration. The transition was very secure, completed within a minimal window, meeting the planned schedule, and accommodating the exponential growth seen in 2023. Additionally, new technologies such as Golden Gate and a real-time Data Lake/Data Warehouse were implemented at no additional cost, thanks to FinOps techniques and automations developed by Prime DB Solutions.
